Tasty Chicken Burgers

Ground chicken is combined with chopped onion, bell peppers & canned mushrooms, cooked with BBQ sauce, and served open-faced on toasted bun halves.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground raw chicken
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can button mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, diced
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
- 1 cup smoky barbecue sauce
- 8 leaves iceburg lettuce
- 8 large tomato slices (such as beefsteak variety)
- Mayonnaise or salad dressing
- Sliced dill pickles
- 4 white or wheat hamburger buns, split

Method
Mix ground chicken, peppers, onion, garlic, mushrooms and salt & pepper in a bowl. Heat frying pan on medium heat. Make 8 burgers out of meat mixture and fry. Pour barbeque sauce over tops of burgers. Cook on both sides until done. Put bun halves in oven to toast until slightly browned. When burgers are done, spread mayonnaise on bun halves. Add pickles and lettuce, then tomato. Place burger on top of tomato and serve open-face.
